Singapore takes on a new added vibrancy with creativity
taking centre stage in the month of November. A series
of events and activities celebrating and promoting the
Creative Industries will be unveiled under the broad
banner of Crea©tive 2005
- Reinvent Your Future.
Singaporeans and visitors will have opportunities to
partake in and enjoy an extraordinary range of creative
experiences through events and activities organised
under four high-profile platforms:
Crea©tive 2005
- Reinvent Your Future is an apt description of the
colourful, diversified and stimulating series of initiatives
by the Ministry of Information, Communications and the
Arts (MICA) to promote the Creative Industries, comprising
Arts, Design and Media.
It puts life into the national strategy to develop
Singapore into a prominent Asian node for Creative Industries,
driven by MICA with DesignSingapore Council, the Media Development Authority and National Arts Council.

exchanges and connections; and celebrate and showcase
creative talents and enterprise.

Beyond 2005: The Global Summit for Creative
Industries, scheduled for 15 and 16 Nov 2005, aspires
to be the world’s most inspiring, influential,
and progressive forum for creative thought leadership
and business application. Beyond 2005 will couple plenary
keynote addresses and panel discussions with interactive
breakout sessions; combining broad-level issues with
specialist topics. It’s your opportunity to get

The inaugural Singapore Design Festival (9 - 23 Nov 2005)
differentiates itself by focusing on design thought
and processes. It aims to be at the leading edge of
design creativity from Asia to the world and the world
to Asia, Key events include the Red Dot Award: Design
Concept 2005; ADASIA 2005 - the largest advertising conference
in Asia; as well as the feature event DesignEDGE - a unique
fusion of presentations and performances across all
design disciplines. While pushing design boundaries,
the Festival offers a broad range of activities including
conventions, exhibitions, workshops, open houses, product
features, award ceremonies and parties. Alongside partners
and supporters from the industry, Festival organiser
DesignSingapore Council aims for the Festival to create
buzz and excitement, leading to new ideas, new products
and new possibilities.

The Asia Media Festival (AMF), organised by Reed Exhibitions
Pte Ltd and hosted by the Media Development Authority
(MDA), is an annual fiesta of inspiring and exciting
activities, including workshops, conferences and exhibitions
to delight the senses of the media and entertainment
industry. The 4th AMF, which will be held from 14 November
to 2 December 2005, presents a spectrum of events not only
for trade but also exciting activities for the public.

Creative
Youth Xchange @ Gallery Hotel will see 16 youths from
across Asia-Pacific realising their dreams in an exciting
2-week workshop from 4 to 17 November 2005 on 3-dimensional
canvases - the rooms of Gallery Hotel, mentored by leading
creative individuals. Based on the theme 5 Walls: Defying
Definitions, Creative Youth Xchange @ Gallery Hotel
will culminate in an exhibition of the transformed rooms
from 18 to 24 November 2005. Creative Youth Xchange is a platform for the youths of Asia Pacific to showcase their ideas and talents across the spheres of arts, design and media, benchmark against the best of their generation and realise the potential of their ideas. Creative Youth Xchange @ Gallery Hotel is the second edition of this platform.
