Dr Lee Boon Yang Leads Design Business Mission To Copenhagen

 

 

Dr Lee Boon Yang, Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts, will lead a business mission to Copenhagen Denmark, from 2-6 June 2008. This is at the invitation of Ms Kigge Hvid, CEO of INDEX:, on behalf of the Danish Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, and Ministry of Culture, the Confederation of Danish Industries, and the Danish Design Industries.

2 During the visit, Dr Lee will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Design to Improve Life between Singapore’s Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts, and Denmark’s Ministry of Economics and Business Affairs. This MOU will establish opportunities for knowledge exchange and professional networking in the field of design between Singapore and Denmark.

3 Dr Lee will meet the Danish Minister for Economic and Business Affairs, Mr Bendt Bendtsen and the Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Mr Helge Sander. He will also have meetings with Danish design, design-led companies and design education institutes.

4 Dr Lee Boon Yang will be accompanied by officers from the DesignSingapore Council and business delegates from nine companies namely The Upper Storey, 10AM, Chemistry, Awak Technologies, Osim International, Biosensors International, Veredus Laboratories, Rockeby Biomed, and Healthstats.

5 INDEX, under the purview of Denmark’s Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs, is a global, non-profit network organisation that focuses on ‘Design to Improve Life’ worldwide. Through a wide range of activities and events, INDEX: aims to spur awareness of the human and commercial potential in ‘Design to Improve Life’.
